Restylane Dermal Fillers in Kitchener Waterloo

Restylane is a dermal filler solution that uses stabilized hyaluronic acid. The filler treats medium depth wrinkles like the lines that run from the nose to the corners of your mouth, and those going towards the jawline. The Restylane family consists of Restylane Refyne, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Defyne, and Restylane Kysse.

How Does Restylane Work?

Restylane works to replace any lost volume underneath the skin, leaving one with a plump and smoothed out appearance. Hyaluronic acid provides volume by attracting water to the skin. By retaining skin moisture and elasticity, hyaluronic acid is associated with a more youthful appearance. Restylane is a popular choice in Kitchener Waterloo for people looking for a semi-permanent boost to their appearance.

Differences Between Dermal Fillers: Juvederm VS Restylane

Differences Between Dermal Fillers: Juvederm VS Restylane

Juvederm and Restylane both tend to hold onto water, and act very similarly as dermal fillers. The main difference in the two fillers generally comes down to brand recognition, though you can opt for either Restylane or Juvederm for nasolabial folds, frown lines, lip lines, and cheek lines.

Juvederm and Restylane dermal fillers are not to be confused with neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport. Dermal Fillers reduce the appearance of wrinkles and restores volume at rest. Neuromodulators like Botox, on the other hand, relax muscles that cause wrinkles when laughing or talking. Because these restore lost volume and do not change facial movement, they offer a surprisingly natural appearance to our clientele.

Pre-treatment Instructions for Restylane

Once approved for the treatment, the patient needs to stop drinking alcohol or smoking. We advise patients to avoid blood thinners, but to continue taking any prescription medications. If in doubt, please mention your concerns to Dr Michalski or one of our Cosmetic Nurses. Pregnant and nursing mothers cannot receive dermal fillers.

All patients will have all treatments explained to them thoroughly by one of our Cosmetic Nurses prior to any procedure. Before treatment you should let your doctor know of any sensitivities or allergies you have.

Prior to treatment the skin needs to be clean, free of makeup, or lotions.

Post-treatment Instructions for Restylane

Avoid excessive heat and sun until any redness and initial swelling goes down. Do not massage or squeeze the treated areas after treatment as this may change your results. Always apply sunscreen before leaving your home.

Restylane is a versatile treatment option that can help smooth lines and wrinkles, lift cheeks, and plump your lips. The procedure is non-invasive, and can be done on the same day as your initial consultation. Speak to the team at Waterloo Medical Cosmetics to determine if Restylane is right for you.
