Teeth grinding and jaw clenching
For selected clients with significant clenching or grinding, neuromodulator treatment to the jaw muscles may reduce muscle activity. Because jaw pain and TMJ symptoms can have several causes, assessment matters before treatment.
Chronic migraine
Botox is an established preventive treatment for appropriately diagnosed chronic migraine. Eligibility, injection pattern, dose and insurer requirements are different from cosmetic treatment and should be reviewed as a medical service.
Excessive sweating
Neuromodulator injections can reduce sweating in selected areas for people with hyperhidrosis. Treatment planning depends on the area, severity, prior treatments and medical history.
Do I need a referral?
You can contact WMC directly for a medical Botox assessment. A referral from your doctor is welcome but not required.
Insurance paperwork
Medical Botox at WMC is not covered by OHIP. Some private insurance plans cover therapeutic Botox or Dysport when plan criteria are met. WMC can help with information and paperwork used in the claim process, but approval and reimbursement are controlled by your insurer.
