Microblading 101

Do you wish you had beautiful brows without all the effort? Our Skin Specialists have long experience in microblading perfect brows. Best of all, this semi-permanent technique will save you time and money in the long run by eliminating the need for a complete eyebrow make-up routine each morning.

Continue reading to learn about microblading, how it works, and why you might want to try this effective and natural-looking beauty treatment.

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure that is administered like a tattoo. During the treatment, an ultra-fine needle creates hair-like wisps with natural-looking pigment on your brows. Microblading involves drawing on the perfect brows so you don’t have to invest the time and effort to do it every morning.

This technique has become wildly popular because of the convenience it offers. Perfectly shaped eyebrows look amazing and with the right technique, microblading can enhance the other features of your face. Microblading is semi-permanent, providing you the freedom to change up your brow game once the pigment fades.

Procedure

As previously mentioned, this cosmetic procedure is much like getting a tattoo on the face. The needles used, however, are much thinner and do not penetrate as deeply into the skin as a traditional tattoo. Your aesthetician will also be using a pigment that looks natural so that it blends in perfectly with your hair colour.

To complete the brow look, you will require more than one session — two or three sessions are typically required. The sessions should be spaced out by about 8 weeks to allow your skin time to heal.

Once your round of sessions is complete, you can expect your stunning new brow look to last anywhere from 2-3 years with proper care.

Who is a Good Candidate?

At this point, you might be wondering: Is microblading safe? Microblading is entirely safe when completed by an experienced and skilled provider. Our staff have years of experience and our clinic is screened and approved by Public Health.

With that said, there may be some risks associated with the procedure and it may not be suitable for everyone. If you are prone to keloid scarring or suffer from certain skin conditions, it is best to avoid microblading. If you experience chronic skin inflammation, please check with your doctor or healthcare provider before booking a session.

Good candidates for the procedure include those with all hair types who can safely be tattooed. Microblading is also an ideal option for anyone experiencing hair loss since the treatment recreates the effect of natural-looking brows.

Results and Recovery

Like a tattoo, microblading requires some recovery time for your skin. During this time, you may notice scabbing in the area of your treatment as well as a darker appearance. Don’t worry; as the skin heals, you will be left with a natural brow look that suits your features.

Recovery takes about two weeks. During this time, you must keep your new brows out of the sun. Wash the area with water only twice per day and apply the soothing lotion provided or recommended by your aesthetician.
