A Dermal Filler Breakdown: Restylane
If you’re tired of skin that feels lackluster, lips that look thin and under eyes that don’t pop, we can’t wait to introduce you to Restylane. As one of our most popular dermal fillers, this treatment has been a shining light in many of our clients’ lives and we think once you become familiar with it and all its benefits, you’ll quickly understand why.
Let’s cut right to the chase today and learn more about what Restylane is and how it can benefit you.
Restylane Overview: What is it?
Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler that is used to help smooth out wrinkles and bring plumpness back into the skin.
Our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid on their own. However, as we age, we produce less. The result is sagging skin, wrinkles and signs of aging. With Restylane, we add hyaluronic acid back into the body to help plump up the skin and bring back some youthful vitality to your look.
Most often, Restylane is injected into the lips, cheeks, under the eyes and around the mouth.
How long does it take for Restylane to work?
We know this all might sound a little too good to be true, but we’re here to assure you that Restylane is the real deal.
Not only that, but Restylane works quickly and you’ll experience very little downtime after your procedure.
In fact, assuming you’re medically cleared to take Restylane, you can walk into our office and an hour later walk out with plumper skin.
Yes, you read that correctly — the effects of Restylane will be almost instantaneous, with even more obvious results after one week. Just keep in mind that depending on how many injections you receive, you could experience some bruising and swelling around the injection site. In general, though, this is a very minimally invasive procedure that will give you quick results.
How long does Restylane last?
While results from Restylane are almost instantaneous, it’s important to note that this is not a permanent fix to sagging skin. If you want to keep your plump skin, you’ll likely have to receive Restylane injections every 6-18 months depending on your skin and how many injections you receive. No worries, we’ll be able to advise you on how often you should stop in for a new fill.
Restylane Compared To Other Dermal Fillers
If you’re struggling to decide which fillers are right for you, right off the bat we want to let you know that there is very little difference between Juvederm and Restylane. Really, the only difference is the manufacturer — so either way, with Juvederm or Restylane, you’ll be pleased with your results.
In terms of the difference between Botox and Restylane, you’ll likely find that Botox is best suited for those who are hoping to smooth out prominent wrinkles. With Restylane, you’ll more-so notice an increase in volume and plumpness to the skin.
Both options are great and will give you a youthful look. It really just depends if your goals
