Dermal Fillers

Bespoke Facial Injections with Juvederm® & Restylane®

Juvederm and Restylane are medical gels (hyaluronic acid) that add volume and definition to the face for a refreshed, naturally refreshed look—especially in the lips and under-eye areas. These gels do not affect how the facial muscles move, and as a result, they create an amazingly natural, fresh-faced look.

If you’re looking for lip injections near you, Juvederm and Restylane are the ones for you. These lip injections are available as a mini-lip (half syringe) which is ideal for adding some definition to the lips or to treat minor wrinkling, or as a full syringe, which is ideal for those seeking more of a plump.

Dermal filler injections are one of our most popular Restylane treatments and the Waterloo Medical Cosmetics team has the experience and talent to give you the lips of your dreams—soft, plump, full, and completely kissable!

What to Expect From Our Bespoke Lip Augmentations

After you book an appointment with us for lip injections in Kitchener & Waterloo area, our team will send you an email that will provide you with a list of do’s and don’ts to ensure your session goes smoothly. To start the treatments, we apply a numbing cream to your treatment area that contains lidocaine to reduce the discomfort.  Your Cosmetic Nurse will select the appropriate Restylane filler and your treatment can begin! All services are noninvasive, virtually pain-free, quick, and easy. There is little to no recovery time required, and following any filler injections, you should feel comfortable returning soon to your usual activities. You’ll receive information on looking after your face post-treatment, and then you’ll be free to get on with your day!

Improvements can be seen in two to three days. Clients typically experience some swelling and bruising that generally resolves in 2-3 days with full resolution in 1-2 weeks.

We will also schedule an in-person follow-up with every client around the two-week mark. If you have concerns, of course, you can contact us as soon as necessary. Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

At Waterloo Medical Cosmetics, we have never had anyone refuse to return for treatment with dermal fillers because of discomfort. This is primarily due to our nurses’ expert training, the numbing creams we use, and the use of specialized equipment. Not to worry, we’ll talk you through it step by step!

Will I Look “Done” or not Authentic?

We focus on making you look like a better version of your beautiful self! We know if your friends think you’re back from vacation or that you just look terrific today, then we’ve done our job well!

Are Fillers Only for Younger People?

While it’s true that fillers are especially popular among our younger clients who want to get lip treatments, we love the defining and volumizing effect that fillers can have for all of our clients. In particular, treating under-eye areas adds a refreshed appearance while cheek fillers can lift the entire face.

 Is it Safe?

Juvederm and Restylane are both safe and have been used for decades. The only people who cannot take advantage of these fillers are pregnant or breastfeeding women, and only because the specialized studies needed have never been properly conducted.

Following lip augmentation, your lips will likely be quite swollen and bruised for 24-48 hours, this tends to settle fairly quickly, although some minor bruising may persist for 1-2 weeks.

Our nurses, meanwhile, come from hospital-based medicine environments. In the unlikely event of a medical emergency, we maintain emergency equipment and medications at all times.

Finally, our medical director is an active ER physician and is available in the unlikely event of an emergency.

Do Waterloo Medical Cosmetics’ Nurses Receive Specialized Training?

Our cosmetic nurses are trained in advanced techniques. All injectable clients meet with our medical director, Dr W Michalski for safety and to ensure medical suitability for any desired treatment. All procedures are performed with strict attention to safety.

Not only do our nurses undergo specialized training, but they also participate in continuing medical education opportunities in the field of cosmetic and facial injectables.
