Where microneedling fits
Microneedling can be useful when the treatment goal is collagen remodeling without the same type of thermal energy used by laser. It is not a universal treatment for pigment, active acne or every scar type.
What treatment is like
Skin is cleansed and prepared before a device passes across the treatment area at settings chosen for the concern. Temporary redness and sensitivity are expected; recovery varies by intensity and individual response.
Series versus single treatment
Because collagen remodeling is gradual, a series may be recommended for scars or texture. The number and spacing should be adjusted to response rather than fixed automatically.
